About

Unfiltered and Unpolished

I couldn’t find a better image to capture the essence of this blog. It’s like sitting down with a slice of cake on a paper plate: simple, unpolished, and real. I’m not a trained writer, and English is my second language, but this is my honest, down-to-earth reflection on beauty, loss, and hope.

I am Honduran and moved to central Pennsylvania in 2018, right after college, to marry the love of my life, Jamison. Jamison helps me edit most of my writing. We are so fortunate to share this life together, and we’re blessed to have an amazing family who live near us. Filled with the joy of Jesus, we are grateful to love others, inspired by our commitment to living out His teachings.

-Camille Claudel

I write about motherhood, about my motherland, Honduras, and about my mother. I lost my mother, Fania Yanira Zuniga, to her battle with Mesothelioma in July 2024. My writing will often reflect my bittersweet grief, compounded by the immense love we shared.
